Welcome new KTH Student!
Congratulations on your admission to Sweden’s most prestigious and oldest technical university. Founded in 1827, KTH now accounts for one third of Sweden’s technical research and education in engineering subjects. KTH has over 14000 students at the bachelor and master levels, and 1700 students at the research level. It boasts a faculty of 4600 professors, teachers, and administrators.
We at the KTH Student Union, Tekniska Högskolans Studentkår, would like to take this opportunity to welcome you on behalf of all KTH students and to give you some initial information to help you with your move here to Sweden.
First and foremost, who are we? The KTH Student Union, Tekniska Högskolans Studentkår in Swedish, is an independent organization organized by the students studying at KTH. The student union has three objectives:
- To enrich the students’ time here at KTH by providing social activities and events to complement the theoretical knowledge received in school. We provide events such as parties as well as trips of various kinds.
- To monitor and to improve the quality of education here at KTH. We do this by providing representation at the local school and central administrative level.
- To connect with commerce and industry to enable students to start their careers as early as possible. We do this by providing lectures by industrial and research professionals, organizing projects in collaboration with academia and industry, as well as organizing career days and excursions to companies.
We would like to take this opportunity to present you to the KTH Student Union’s international student portal. This portal contains:
- Contact details to various people and institutions if you have any questions
