Vänsterteknologerna
Vänsterteknologerna
Vänsterteknologerna is a party-politically independent association of left-oriented students at KTH whose purpose is to be a safe meeting place and a forum for dialogue. The ideological left must be represented at KTH in order to promote a democratic society at large. We have participated in demonstrations, started a book circle and had a lot of nice gatherings. We intend to invite speakers, organize pub nights and other fun activities to promote left-wing political discussion.

Overallens Vänner Stockholm (OVS)
Overallens Vänner Stockholm (OVS)
Overallens Vänner Stockholm (OVS) is an assocation created with the purpose to promote the boiler suit- and student culture at KTH and in Stockholm. We’re a re-creation of an old THS association with the same name, which was active in the early 2000’s. We are a pseudo-serious partying and patch collecting association that prints patches and encourages active use of boiler suits, patch collecting, and making friends across chapter and union borders. We organize trips to the larger student events in Sweden (like Sjöslaget, Quarnevalen, Squvalp, Absolut Gotland, SkiWeek, etc). The association board is made up of students from different chapters and associations at KTH and SU.
Membership in OVS is free, and puts you on a mailing list with updates on what we’re doing. You also get the opportunity to buy our membership patch. We’re active on Facebook and Instagram, feel free to follow us!

Effektiv Altruism (EA KTH)
Effektiv Altruism (EA KTH)
Do you want to do more good in the world, but unsure where to start?
The goal of Effective Altruism is to help other people. We combine economics, philosophy, computer, social and natural sciences to identify and solve the world’s biggest problems, such as climate change, the risks with advanced artificial intelligence, global poverty, animal suffering, pandemics, nuclear war etc. We apply evidence and rigorous thinking to try to answer the question “How can we use our hearts AND minds in the best way possible to help others the most?
Effective Altruism is a global movement, with branches in Sweden, and here at KTH!
Every Monday we meet in Nymble 17.30-20.30 to build projects for Effective Altruism. A project can be to research an EA-relevant topic, communicate EA-related ideas, create an impactful career plan for yourself or do something that has direct impact. More information about these sessions can be found here, and here is a detailed list of project suggestions.
We also do book clubs, workshops, career advice, lectures and more to learn more about how to improve the world, as individuals and as a society – all to help engaged students to get a meaningful and impactful career that also makes the most out of their skills and interests.
If you are interested in joining us, see our Facebook for recent updates, join our Discord or send us an e-mail at effektivaltruism@ths.kth.se.

Quarnevalen (Q)
Quarnevalen (Q)
Quarnevalen is a student carnival that is held every three years. It is one of Sweden’s largest student events, with over 1,500 committed students from all Stockholm educational institutions. The students spends a whole week in May building their contributions to the carnival, and then they roll out across the streets of Stockholm.
On Union Day you can meet us in Maskinparken, where we organize a festival throughout the day, called Q-nØllan. On site you can listen to good music, eat good food, participate in all the crazy activities and get to know students from other sections. Come and talk to us (we wear turquoise) and get all the information on how you can participate in the most unforgettable event ever!
Instead, the two years between each Quarneval, Squvalp is organized, which is a slightly smaller, waterborne carnival. During one May day, 600-800 students will gather to build fleets, which will hopefully float at the end of the day, when it is time to show them to the public gathered at the beach in Rålmabshovsparken. Attending these events is not only really fun, but also gives you the chance to meet students from all over Stockholm!

Konglig Bergs Spectacle Sellskap (KBSS)
Konglig Bergs Spectacle Sellskap (KBSS)
Kongligt Bergs Spectacle Sellskap (KBSS), is a union association at THS, it was founded as early as 1943 and has had a production every year since! That makes us Sweden’s oldest yearly recurring technology performance. The purpose of the association is the execution and preservation of the noble arts of the Spex (theater performance). Historically the ensemble consists mostly of students from the material design program, that is the program traditionally called Bergs. But of course KBSS is a union for which all students at KTH are welcome!
The Spex consists of many different parts that must cooperate and pull together to achieve a good result, therefore the association consists of a number of different types of members. Actors who thrive in the spotlight is a must, in addition to these, people who like to sing, dance and play music, people who can sew, carpenter and paint, students who handle sound and light, film and photo, and those who work with financial and administrative issues.

KTH Volleyball
KTH Volleyball
We are proud of our past successes in the Korpen league, where our men’s, women’s, and mixed teams have claimed several victories. In 2023, we made our debut in the Swedish Volleyball Federation’s national series, with our teams competing in Division 3 and topping both the Men’s and Women’s groups. In the upcoming 2024/2025 season, we aim to perform well in Division 2.
Our focus is on 6v6 indoor volleyball, with training programs designed to develop each player’s technical and tactical abilities. Beyond our competitive goals, we organize regular team-building events and open volleyball tournaments to promote community and player development at all levels.
We look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with both national and international universities through collaborations, tournaments, and other enriching activities. Our vision is not only to compete at a high level but also to contribute to the broader development of volleyball as a sport.
Tryouts are held twice a year—in September and February. Stay updated through our social media on Facebook and Instagram for more information on tryout dates and upcoming events.

ÆSIR
ÆSIR
ÆSIR is short for ”Association of Engineering Students In Rocketry” and is an THS Student Union association engaged in rocket and space systems development. It is a place to meet like-minded people and get hands-on experience of real-world engineering work. It is actually rocket science!
The association usually runs a main project in rocket development for 1.5 years simultaneously as other smaller space-related projects. The workload covers all from design and construction to testing and analysis. Our association goal is to build and launch rockets in order to break the European altitude record for amateur rocketry.

We have a clubroom located in the Q-building where we have a room with a sofa, fridge, kitchen and of course plenty of computers. The club has plenty of knowledge among its members; we have everything from new students who are here to learn and use the clubroom to study, all the way to older members that have moved on and started to work with everything from programming to administration of large clusters of servers.
Thursday evenings from 7 PM are our traditional day where we meet in the clubroom and build something, debug a problem or discuss something interesting. If you are interested you are always welcome at any Thursday evening, knock at our door at the 2nd level in the Q-building.

Tekniska Högskolans Radioklubb (THR)
Tekniska Högskolans Radioklubb (THR)
”THR stands for ””Tekniska Högskolans Radioklubb”” and is the Radio Club association of THS Student Union at KTH, the Royal Institue of Technology in Stockholm. The club was founded in 1955 by some graduate students who were amateur radio operators. For quite a while, THR has been not only a radio club but also an electronics club in which we keep ourselves busy with, among other things:
- All operational and technical aspects of amateur radio. The clubs call sign is SKØBU.
- Electronic experiments and home-brewing. (e.g. digital techniques, Hi-Fi, Video)
THR also has an electronics lab which occasionally has been used by faculties (departments) that were less well-equipped than THR. Many undergraduate students have had their first practical experience with electronics at THR. Concerning documentation and books, THR has a large library of radio- and electronics books and magazines. THR usually has about 50 to 70 members. Students from the electrical engineering and computer science departments are well represented for natural reasons but other students are also members. Many members are also KTH alumni.
We are located at the bell tower at the courtyard, stop by and say hi!
